Fitting in fitness throughout your day can
not only give you a break from work to refresh your mind but also to
help your heart.
- Use the first or last 30 minutes of your lunch hour to go for a walk. Whether it’s in a circle around the building or up and down the hallways, get moving. You can even recruit co-workers to stroll with you.
- Look for a gym or exercise studio near your work that offers lunchtime classes. Many gyms offer classes in the 12-1 p.m. time slot. By forcing yourself to leave the office it will be easier to commit.
Incorporate moves you can do at your desk to your daily routine. Take a call standing up and shuffling from side to side, do criss-crosses with your legs while checking email. Every little bit can help.
