There are lots of ways to celebrate the season in and around Virginia Beach and now's the time to solidify your holiday 2011 plans. With that in mind, below are 3 Virginia Beach holiday events:
- Founders Illumination - The Founders Inn & Spa, 5641 Indian River Rd., Virginia Beach will hold its tree-lighting ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 27. Can't make it that day? Not to worry, the Inn will host tons of holiday events throughout the season with plenty of opportunities to gape at the huge holiday displays. Call 757-424-5511 for details.
- Holiday Parade at the Beach - Head to Virginia Beach's gorgeous resort area for the holiday parade on Atlantic Avenue. The shindig kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 with giant balloons, marching bands, and all kinds of floats. Of course, Santa will be on hand to wish his loyal fans a happy holiday. Call 757-491-7866 for any questions.
- McDonalds Holiday Lights at the Beach - This beachside lighting display is a playful nod to our community's nautical roots. Dolphins and fish are side by side with holiday favorites like Santa and his merry elves. Find the festive display in the resort area of the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. The display is open 5:30 to 10 p.m. nightly and continues through Jan. 1, 2012. Call 757-491-7866 for details and ticket prices.
