If you have entered into a child abuse case against your abusive husband, you may find yourself the target of many character attacks. These attacks may include allegations against your sanity and parenting abilities. The best way to disprove these allegations is to respond to them in a calm, cool and rational manner.
Logic and Emotional Indifference
An abuser will like to keep you ill-at-ease; he will enjoy making deliberately ludicrous demands in order to make you refuse and seem that you are the uncooperative one in the relationship. He will say things he knows will set you off, make you angry or emotional, and use your responses to make you appear unstable. The best way to avoid falling into the abuser's traps is through logic and emotional indifference.
These two things turn the tables on an abusive person. Instead of you getting flustered and angry as he anticipated, he instead becomes flustered and angry with your calm reaction. If he makes one of those ludicrous demands, try to calmly suggest a more reasonable alternative. Apply this practice of being non-reactive to all conversations with him. In this way, his attempts to make you appear crazy actually make him look unstable.
