Virginia Annulments Based on Non-Disclosure

There are few things that are more devastating than putting your trust in someone who betrays that bond. This type of betrayal is particularly upsetting when it occurs inside a marriage. If you are a Virginia woman who has discovered that your husband withheld critical information before your wedding, you might be considering divorce.

Failure to disclose an important fact before the wedding could qualify your marriage for a Virginia annulment
. Often, these omissions or non-disclosures are gut-wrenching betrayals from which your marriage cannot recover.

Minor transgressions or omissions would not qualify for an annulment in Virginia. For instance, if you discovered that your husband lied about the number of lovers he had before your wedding, you would not qualify for a Virginia annulment. However, if he neglected to tell you that he worked in the sex industry before you were married, you may have grounds for a Virginia annulment.

Some cases of non-disclosure that might qualify for a Virginia annulment include:

  • Your husband has a felony conviction, which he did not tell you about
  • Your husband withheld knowledge of his impotence
  • Your husband fathered a child with another woman within 10 months of the wedding date
